My spring semester ended about a month ago and I did really well in my two classes. I really hated how I could only take two classes, but none of the other courses I needed to take were available. One of them was available over the summer, but was instantly cancelled after the spring semester. Thanks to this event, I cannot graduate in May 2010. But, less about my life problems. I need to start talking art.
Thanks to the two classes I had, I grew to appreciate those forms of art more. Sculpting isn't something I was particularly fond of, but it grew to me over time. Something about manipulating objects from all directions felt nice...and being able to create something from 2D to 3D was even better. I must say, I was able to create some bizarre things from 3D. The glazing process made things far more interesting.
Painting with oils wasn't something I was fond of and I'm still not. Working with actual acrylics and using a layering process was a lot of fun. Also, I fell in love with the palette knife. I find it to be an awesome tool for painting. I plan on making at least one traditional painting this summer.
As of right now, I am working on a few illustrations to sell at an art-fair at the end of the month. So want to have at least 4 or 5 pieces for sale, but I only have one piece that's close to being finished. I've put over 6 hours into this one work already using only markers. It's an abstract piece using lines and shapes; something purely non-representational.
I might as well jump back to that piece, though. I've got too many blank illustration boards. They definitely need to have some art on them.

I saw your Pocket sprite edits (the ones on Neo Geo Pocket style) and I think that they are GREAT!
I'm making a full game with just Pocket chars on that style for Mugen (a fighting game engine), with many games coveres like Street Fighter, KOF, Mortal Kombat but bringing some people back, like Alex Kidd, Little Mac from Punch Out Series, Hellboy, Jaspion, etc.
The sprites, on our project, are made with a very easy and simple style: black borders and flat colors (no shading), to give it a more NES feeling and to be more nostalgic
But its totally different from the other crossover series, like Marvel vs Capcom. His gameplay is kinda unique, as you can see on this video [link]
There is a section on a forum called MugenGuild to our project: [link]
So, would you like to help us?
Awaiting contact.
see ya.
